'Te Puawai' Limited Edition Print (Unframed)

We are all born with seeds of greatness inside of us, empowered with a combination of unique gifts, strengths, and talents that need to be nurtured in order to grow. The Koru at the centre of this drawing is based on pitau, the unfurling shoot of a fern. It tells a story of birth, growth and unfolding of life. As the fern shoot grows and matures into an adult frond it flourishes, and sprouts new fronds, continuing the cycle of life. The circular shape of the koru represents eternal movement,  and it’s inner coil, suggests a return to the point of origin that connects us to our lineage. It’s a powerful metaphor for the way in which life both changes and stays the same with each new generation.
